SAFETY PROCEDURES for CHORAL REHEARSAL
There are many benefits of participating in chorus during the pandemic:
- Students are able to engage in the deep social-emotional learning that comes with singing, which they currently need more than ever
- Musically-inclined students have an outlet for creative thinking and artistic expression
Although this year will look a little different in our classroom, choral education will thankfully still be taking place.
In order to make singing as safe as possible, the following protocols will be in place.
As new information becomes available, procedures will be updated.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you have.

Recommendations from the International Performing Arts Aerosol Study
... with lead scientists Shelly Miller (University of Colorado Boulder) and Jelena Srebric (University of Maryland)
This study examines aerosol rates produced by wind instrumentalists, vocalists, and actors, and how quickly those aerosol rates accumulate in a space.
Singing emits more particles than conversational talking, but less than coughing.
