Lisa BassettLisa Bassett has enjoyed a career in music education for the past 19 years. This is her ninth year as the choral director at Chestatee High School in Gainesville, GA. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Piedmont College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from North Georgia College & State University. She has served as a professional vocalist, accompanist, private vocal coach, clinician, and adjudicator for various schools, churches, and events. Prior to her current position, she taught at Suwanee Academy of Arts and Riverside Academy.
Her choral students consistently earn superior ratings at Large Group performance evaluations, and several of her students and groups have won first place in Region Literary meets, to move on to the State meet. In 2023 the CHS Men's Quartet won the Literary 4A State Championship. Mrs. Bassett's students have also been selected for the GMEA All-State and All-State Reading Choirs, as well as the Governors Honors Program. She has helped a student earn a preferred audition for America’s Got Talent, and she and several of her students are now working with a music producer from Nashville on various recording projects. During her time at Chestatee, Mrs. Bassett’s students have enjoyed several choral collaborations with colleges and universities both in and out of the state of Georgia. She enjoys sharing her passion for music with others, so that they might continue to develop a love and passion for it as well. Mrs. Bassett’s students have gone on to become music teachers, worship leaders, and professional musicians. She enjoys working with and getting to know students and their families. Mrs. Bassett is a member of the National Association for Educators (NAfME), Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) and the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC). Mrs. Bassett's hobbies include photography, running (if you can actually call running a hobby), and graphic design. She and her husband live in Gainesville with their three children. |

Mrs. Bassett is a member of the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME), the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA), and the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC).
She has served as a clinician for the District 13 Senior Women's Chorus (2022). She has also served as an adjudicator for NFMC events (2010, 2012, 2014), Piano Guild auditions (2010, 2015), and the 9th District Literary Meet (2005). She has served as an accompanist for various groups and events, including District 13 Honor Chorus (2013, 2016, 2017). |
