Honor Chorus Info

The Old Mill: Anytime the music states “freely” page 12-13 and page 15-16, watch the conductor as I will conduct each 16th/8th note pattern. Difficult to practice the “freely” sections with the track provided, however, I will conduct each note during these sections of the piece.
Summertime: For bass and soprano split, schools names A-H will sing the upper note, and schools I-Z will sing the lower note.
Tumekuja Kuimba: Schools names A-H will sing the B1 note, and schools I-Z will sing the B2 note. Each school may choose 1 singer to audition for the solo on page 4 and page 5. The solo will either be divided into 2 or 4 solos total. All soloists will sing the descant together on page 7-8.

Cantate Domino:
p. 6-8: The split part 1 will be split between S1A (Apalachee-Jackson Co) and S1B (Johnson-Young Singers).
p. 9: last note, split Altos evenly.(A1-Apalachee-Johnson) (A2- Lanier Christian-Young Singers)
p. 10: Part 1 should be S1A/S1B singing e and g. They will glissando down to sing the c in ms. 57.
Part 2 should just sing the c natural (not the e). They will glissando down to sing the a in ms. 57.
Part 3 should be A1/A2 singing only the f natural and a. The Alto 1s will glissando down to meet the A2s to sing the f natural in ms. 57.
p. 11: split the parts 1, 2, and 3 evenly as they build up in ms. 63 (should end up with S1A, S1B, S2A, S2B, A1, and A2). S1s continue to sing split in mm. 64 and 65.
p. 12: split into S1A/S1B, S2A/S2B, and A1/A2 in ms. 73.

Ain't No Grave:
ms. 6 and ms. 14 (for example): I would like students singing "hold my body down. They" to carry from "down" to "they" as if it is a quarter note instead of an eighth with an eighth rest. This happens in multiple places throughout the song.
*yes, we will sing the word "sis-tuh" every time it is written.
*If there is a two-part split on any voice line, split that voice part evenly.
*Claps/Stomps start in ms. 53.
